Tradivior aims to make its investigations and community features usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including readers who use assistive technology.
Our target
We are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a practical accessibility target for the production site. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing quality requirement rather than a one-time certification.
Areas we prioritize
- Readable font sizes and line lengths
- Sufficient colour contrast
- Keyboard-accessible navigation and controls
- Visible focus states
- Logical heading structure
- Meaningful image alternative text
- Accessible forms and labels
- Reasonable touch-target sizes
- Responsive layouts that remain usable when zoomed
- Clear link and button labels
Long-form investigations
Tradivior publishes long investigations, so reading accessibility matters particularly to us. As the article experience develops, navigation aids such as structured headings, investigation maps or tables of contents, reading progress and clear evidence callouts should be designed so they remain usable with keyboards and assistive technologies.
Images and historical material
Editorial images should include useful alternative text where the image communicates information. Decorative imagery should not create unnecessary repetition for screen-reader users. Historical images may include contextual captions where the subject or source needs explanation.
Known limitations
Tradivior is currently under active development. Some third-party embeds, forum components, archival media or development-stage templates may not yet meet the final accessibility standard. These areas will be reviewed during the dedicated pre-launch QA phase.
Feedback
When the production contact channel is enabled, readers will be able to report an accessibility barrier and identify the page or feature involved. Actionable reports will be reviewed as part of ongoing site maintenance.
